Hey fellows,
I’m having a lot of fun these days with mel scripting…
Even started writing a couple of “big” scripts to be used as is, that I will probably post on creativecrash.com
Want to know more?
“Hell Yeah”
Okay then!
(fyi, this is meant to be funny and not pathetic at all)
I’m actually working on 3 scripts :
3DCameraANDnulls_to_AE.mel
pretty self-explanatory… I just want to automatize this in the very way I’m doing it manually.
CleanScene.mel
this script will bake anything in your scene (anim, dynamics & ndynamics, particles, fluids, etc) so it can be rendered anywhere.
the_Playblaster.mel
this little guy will create a new renderLayer and replace all your assigned shaders (MS, MR or VR) with a new “playblast-friendly” shader trying to imitate the look of his parent (color, specularity, transparency).
Cool, right? I know it’s still pretty basic… but that will help a lot to save time. Or at least mine
Again… getting into the geeky talking… how can I forget to mention this…
I’ve released the version 2.7 of my ABCshelf for 2012
Lots of changes… I really need to make that video tutorial thing…
UPDATES in version 2.7
- created a new button to toggle the resolution settings
- added RopeSwing, Particle Setup and Kill VolumeField
- reorganized the CreateDYNA menu
- added the tensionBS deformer
- added the Custom Script Editor
- added the SanctusMatchCamera script to Cam right-click
- added shortcut to projectWin with right click
- created a new right-click menu button for modeling tools
(facer, randomize transf, array dupl, fit geo & axcrack)
- added a BatchRender button
Also, I’ve finally posted it to CreativeCrash, so you can also get it from here now.
In the future (version 3.0? ^^), I’d like to automate the update… I’m starting to look into that… Might have to go python for this though (cf Sunday Pipeline installation awesomeness).
More awesomeness soon… until then, spread the love.
